On the easel: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr - “Mine Eyes have Seen the Glory”

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. has always inspired me. Sometimes I think it wasn't a coincidence that he lived in Montgomery, Alabama when Rosa Parks sparked the Montgomery bus boycott in 1955. I love his message of legal, non-violent, civil disobedience - and I love the fact he was inspired by Christian beliefs. When I saw this particular picture of Dr. King, it struck me. He looked calm, dignified, thoughtful - a picture of complete courage & grace. "Mine Eyes have seen the Glory of the Coming of the Lord!” That's why I painted it.

I’m a big fan of the Rolling Stones. I have two finished pieces of Keith Richards and as of October 2022, two unfinished pieces of Keith Richards and one unfinished piece of the group.

Tom Brady: GOAT

In Tom Brady’s first Superbowl against the Rams, the Patriots were heavy underdogs. When Adam Vinatieri hit the game winning field goal, my dad almost jumped through the roof. That’s what it’s all about.

We got to watch Brady win six more Superbowls after that. I don’t think they’ll ever be anyone like him. The GOAT.
